Getting rid of e‑records

Did you know that the university has a Records Management Policy?

And this policy outlines the responsibility to dispose institutional records appropriately by following records management procedures.

To help with this, the Dalhousie Libraries has an application that assists with electronic records dispositions.

What do I do?

If you have electronic records that you’re not sure what to do with, reach out to the Records Management Office at DalRM@dal.ca

The Records Management Office will help you determine if the records are in the purview of the Records Management Policy and Program and how the records are to be disposed (secure deletion or transfer to the University Archives).

Once disposition has been determined, you will begin the processes mentioned above. This includes ensuring your unit has a , completing and submitting the required paperwork. You can find more information on the processes here .
